Mural Painting for ages 6-9 | Mondays, March 27-May 22; 3:30-5 pm | Erika McCormick | An introduction to acrylic paint on a grand stage! Young Artists will learn foundational drawing/painting techniques while building self-confidence and collaborative group skills. Comics & Zines for ages 9-12 | Mondays, March 27-May 22; 3:30-5 pm | Daryl Seitchik | Comics are not just for superhero fans! Anyone can tell stories through pictures, and this introductory class will show you how. We'll learn how to design our own cartoon characters, build new worlds, tell stories through drawing, and make our own zines. Creative Play with Clay for ages 13-16 | Thursdays, May 4-June 8; 3:30-5:30 pm; No class May 25 | Kärin Rothwell | Bring ceramic ideas alive as you learn how to make things out of clay without using the wheel. Find out how to move clay around, putting pieces together to create something from your imagination. We can make functional things to use at home, or artwork worthy of standing on a pedestal! Each class will begin with a demonstration and group time before working on individual projects that are open to student expression, while incorporating our weekly lesson. After building, the class will cover decorating and glazing techniques, and students will go home with completed projects at the end of the session. This class is meant specifically for teens.
