the lift of blue | A Group Exhibition in Support of Mental Health Awareness
the lift of blue | A Group Exhibition in Support of Mental Health Awareness
In Collaboration with West Central Behavioral Health May 3-June 29, 2024 | Opening reception and event: Friday, May 3, 5-7 pm. Cerulean, Cobalt, Phthalo, Prussian, Ultramarine– artists know these names well: they are blue. Gazing at a blue sea– or any body of water can lower your heart rate and blood pressure and increase feelings of relaxation. Oh, there’s a study you can google it. A babbling brook winding through a pine forest, or diamonds sparkling on crystal lake waters. Sky gazing offers mood-enhancing qualities too– the blue of the sky on a crystal blue-bird day in winter will surely lift your spirits. This exhibition calls for blue, open to however you want to use it. (Exhibition title inspired by Sea Church, a poem by Aimee Nezhukumatathil). Call opens March 4, deadline by April 8. Notice by April 19. Delivery, Tuesday, April 30. Image Credit: Kiki Smith, Constellation

2025 Main Gallery Exhibitions
Thank you for your interest in exhibiting at AVA Gallery and Art Center. AVA features single exhibiting artists showing concurrently in our three/four spacious exhibition spaces. AVA’s Exhibition Committee consists of artists, art curators, and art professionals who review proposals with thoughtful consideration and equal representation given to artists with strong connections to NH, VT, and the greater New England region. Since there are limited opportunities for single/solo exhibitions, artists who submit a proposal may be invited to participate in a curated group exhibition. Please be aware that AVA’s exhibition schedule is planned 1-2 years in advance. AVA is committed to exhibiting artists through meaningful and engaging contemporary art, cultivating an exchange of ideas and dialogue between the local art community and beyond. The deadline for submission of proposals for the 2025 calendar year is midnight, March 30, 2024. Notices will be sent no later than July 31, 2024.

Lend a hand by donating original artwork to aid in our fundraising effort. Please note: our exhibition schedule is extremely tight and active, please submit your donation information electronically! We appreciate your donation in addition to helping us organize this big exhibition and fundraiser! Year after year, the success of this fundraiser has relied on the high-quality original artwork that so many loyal and talented artists have generously donated. Many people start collecting art at our auction and then become loyal collectors of our AVA artists. We appreciate your donation! You determine the list value/retail price, it's important to know that bidding begins at 25% of that price; therefore, artwork valued/priced at a higher price point is more effective as a fundraiser. We appreciate all artwork donated, whatever your determined price may be! We love 3D artwork too!! Other works of art, i.e.: ceramics, textiles/fiber art: 1 item at your determined retail price. AVA's gift to you: Two complimentary tickets to the AVA's Fundraiser: Illumination: Exhibition, Live + Silent Auction Party: Saturday, April 27 (value $100). Your name will be listed in the extensive display advertising surrounding this fundraiser. Numerous art collectors and area business supporters will view your work.  Thank you! With gratitude, Team AVA P.S., Illumination is the creative exhibition/event title intended to inspire growth and illuminate AVA's future, it's not an exhibition theme.
