Call to Artists: Pecha Kucha at AVA
Originating in Tokyo, Pecha Kucha, or "chit-chat", is a unique presentation format used around the world. Presenters share a story of ideas using 20 slides, each displayed for 20 seconds, for a total presentation of 6 minutes and 40 seconds per artist. The concise format encourages presenters to be brief, yet creative, relying on powerful images and visual storytelling. The constant movement prevents mental "drift" while maintaining focus on your core message. It is an effective way for artists to share new work with an audience and receive feedback in a fun, supportive, and inclusive environment.

Deadline: Monday, March 16, 2026
What happens next: all submissions will be reviewed by committee. 10 artists will be selected and notified by March 20 with further instructions.

2027 Solo Exhibition Proposal | Call to Artists
Thank you for your interest in exhibiting at AVA Gallery and Art Center. AVA features solo exhibiting artists showing concurrently in our three/four beautiful and spacious exhibition galleries. AVA is committed to showcasing artists from diverse backgrounds and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion through meaningful and engaging contemporary art, fostering an exchange of ideas and dialogue between the local art community and beyond.
Our Exhibition Committee comprises artists, art curators, and art professionals who review proposals with thoughtful consideration, ensuring equal representation for artists with strong connections to NH, VT, and the broader New England region. Since there are limited opportunities for single/solo exhibitions, artists who submit a proposal may be invited to participate in a curated group exhibition.
Please be aware that AVA’s exhibition schedule is planned 1-2 years in advance. The deadline for submission of proposals for the 2027 calendar year is midnight, March 30, 2026. Notices will be sent no later than July 31, 2026. For questions about the submission process, please contact Exhibition Manager Samantha Eckert, at sam@avagallery.org. Thank you! The submission fee partially covers the expense of the electronic submission platform; unfortunately, it is non-refundable.

Call Description:
AVA Artist Members enjoy exclusive benefits distinct from Individual, Family, or higher-level memberships. One key advantage is the opportunity to showcase their work both on our website and in our physical gallery, The Bank Street Gallery at AVA.
