INHERITANCE

What did you inherit from your people? Are your eyes hazel like your mom’s? Did you get musical talent from your Dad? Or maybe there was a surprise bequest from an aunt you barely knew? We all get something from somewhere and there’s probably a good story in it. Or did you inherit a skeleton in a closet? A medical history? Or no inheritance at all? What have you inherited? We are looking for Inheritance stories for our Mudroom storytelling event on the evening of Thursday, March 9, 2023.

We would like to hear from storytellers of all ages and from all towns in the Upper Valley and beyond. Storytellers will be awarded an AVA membership and one guest ticket to the performance.

Stories are limited to no more than 10 minutes, must be true and autobiographical, not memorized, and must be told live (not read).

To submit your story, call (802) 448-2088. Leave us your name, email, and briefly tell us your story. You may also email us at mudroom@avagallery.org, and in fewer than 300 words give us a sketch of your true, personal story. Just tell us what your story is about and what happens in the end.
If your story is included in our lineup, we will also need a brief biography of fewer than 100 words for the Mudroom program.

Story submissions and any questions may be directed to mudroom@avagallery.org   by February 17. On February 21, we will select five or six stories from the submission pool and contact storytellers.  Selected storytellers will be expected to attend a rehearsal held on Sunday, February 26, at 4:00pm at AVA.
