Art Exhibition Programming

Description: Creative opportunity to enhance AVA’s robust 2024 exhibitions programming.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

Objective: Visual Cultural Lecture Series, assist in the design of a lecture series related to thematic content of exhibiting artists and partnering exhibition groups.

Objective: Workshop Series, assist in the design of an engaging workshop series related to thematic content of exhibiting artists and partnering exhibition groups.

Overview:

Visual Cultural Lecture Series (series of 4):

  • Research 2024 Exhibiting Artist Series
  • Consider the mediums, timeline, and logistics of the exhibition space (Clifford B. West Gallery)
  • Formulate ticket prices based on estimated popularity of lectures series.
    • Two tiers:
      • per lecture, higher price
      • Package of entire series
      • Include Boxed lunches from Lucky’s

Workshop Series (series of 4): assist in the design of an engaging workshop series related to thematic content of exhibiting artists and partnering exhibition groups.

  • Research varied mediums of the exhibiting artists.
  • Learn about their location and the feasibility of holding a workshop at AVA.
  • Talk with education manager about tuition strategies.
    • Two tiers:
      • per workshop, higher price
      • Package of entire series
      • Include Boxed lunches from Lucky’s

EXPECTED COMMITTEMENT:

  • 15- 20 hours per week

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Studio art, museum education, or museum studies practices. Knowledge of visual culture and contemporary art.

Website SEO & Social Media Intern

Description: Improve AVAGallery.org’s website performance, content, and SEO

Duties Include:

· Performing keyword research

· Webpage optimization – may include changing website content, metadata, headings, titles, and image alt text.

· Analyzing webpages using tools like Google Analytics, Google Pagespeed, and Screaming Frog (SEO checker).

· Utilization of Google Adwords to drive traffic to weak areas on the AVA website

· Upload and create video pages for past Artreach artist programs

· Create social media content using platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and X to drive more traffic to the website and to physical space of AVA.

EXPECTED COMMITTEMENT:

· Social Media 3-6 Hrs/wk

· Website Optimization Approx. 60Hrs

· ArtReach Video Upload 20-30Hrs

· Google Adwords 2-3 Hrs/wk

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Digital Marketing and Marketing skills

· Excellent communication skills

· Experience with managing and creating content for social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter.

· Basic understanding knowledge of SEO Principles and Concepts

· Knowledge of Google Analytics

· Photography Skills

· Using programs like Canva, Loomly, PhotoShop, Etc.
