“Painting and drawing help me to reveal and understand who I am. I revere the beauty of nature and the designs nature offers us to see. To notice all of these hidden treasures within the obvious is a gift for an artist. My great desire in life is to keep painting and drawing with a never ending passion to do so.” – Tatiana Yanovskaya-Sink
Tatiana is a native of Ukraine and since 1990 she was a very active artist member of Boston’s south shore artists community before she moved to New London New Hampshire in 2019. Tatiana is an award winning artist; locally and nationally; having won numerous shows and acceptance into competitions at both levels. Her works have been published in premiere magazines such as American Artist, Art Connoisseur and International Artist. Some of her major awards include the Silver Medal from Guild of Boston Artists and BEST of SHOW at the “Best and Brightest” competition at the Scottsdale Artists School, AZ.
She is a very strong advocate for painting directly from Life in the “alla prima” style which she teaches in her courses.
Her subject matters range from painting beautiful still life; portraiture; animals; plein air landscapes of the upper Connecticut River valley of west central New Hampshire and Vermont and the White Mountain National Forest. Her plein air works reflect typical New England pastoral scenes as well as splendid mountain vistas and waterfalls.
One of her favorite subjects is human portraiture. However, her floral paintings reflect her love for colors, translucence, floral characters and design. Most time she paints what motivates and inspires her on the spot, e. g. such places where simplicity hides intricate shapes, notes of exquisite colors and patterns and human personalities.
