Artist’s Biography

Stephanie Wolff works with text, textile, and the book form creating both two- and three dimensional art on themes of weather, science, history, and rural life. She researches in archives for stories about life in the past and through her art seeks to understand that history and its relationship to the present.
She was the Fall 2015 Helen M. Salzberg Artist-in-Residence at the Jaffe Center for Book Arts at Florida Atlantic University. In 2013 she was awarded a Creative and Performing Artists and Writers Fellowship at the American Antiquarian Society, where her research focused on a set of early 19th century diaries, the subject of an ongoing body of work.
Her artist books have been exhibited in the United States and Germany. They are included in 500 Handmade Books, Volumes 1 & 2 (Lark Books) and held in public and private collections. In addition to working on her own creative projects, she teaches book arts to students of all ages.
