The Mudroom
September 12, 2024
7-9 PM
Theme: “Holding On/ Hanging Up”
Do you have a story of a relationship turned sour, a struggle of kicking a bad habit, an attachment to objects you can’t part with, or a challenge with a difficult memory? We’d love to hear from storytellers of all ages and from all towns in the Upper Valley and beyond. Storytellers will be awarded an AVA membership and one guest ticket to the performance!
Stories are limited to no more than 10 minutes, must be true and autobiographical, not memorized, and must be told live (not read). If you have told a story at the last Mudroom, please wait until the next event to apply.
To submit your story, in fewer than 300 words give us a sketch of your true, personal story. Please don’t send essays, poems, folktales, speeches, or stand-up routines. Just tell us what your story is about and what happens in the end. Please also include a brief biography of fewer than 100 words.
Story submissions and any questions may be directed to mudroom@avagallery.org.
The deadline for story submissions is August 19. By August 23, we will select five or six stories from the submission pool and will contact storytellers. Selected storytellers will be expected to attend a rehearsal held on Sunday, September 8, at 4:00pm at AVA.
Please spread the word to friends and family!
