Don Toothaker Presents: Lessons in the Field
I am not trying to take a picture of something. Â I am trying to create an image of how I feel about something.

“Photograph What You Feel”
This simple mantra is the thesis and driving force behind all that I do as a photographer and as a photography coach.
I am a self-taught photographer who has been happily photographing a wide variety of subjects for over 20 years while teaching and encouraging others to do so as well. As the Director of Photo Adventures for Hunt’s Photo and Video in Massachusetts since 2017, I conduct numerous instructional photo walks in the greater Boston and New England area while also designing, implementing, and leading instructional photography workshops locally, nationally, and internationally. I am deeply committed to sharing the unique beauty of the world through the power and authenticity of my photography, creative energy, and humble attempts at writing. What I do as a photographer and as a photography instructor is, and will always be, a wonderful, enriching labor of love. There is no end to learning, appreciation, or wonder. Don’s writing on his blog and his Facebook page are as inspirational as his photography – definitely something to check out.
