Emmett Donlon is a NH-based painter. Donlon creates evocative portraits, depictions of historical scenes and references to contemporary culture in oil paint and installation sculpture. His work mostly explores the intersections between personal and shared histories, gathering references from pop culture, historical archives, and personal collections. The absurdity of life and death are common themes in his work. He holds a BFA from Carnegie Mellon University and exhibits regionally.
Emmett will be demonstrating the process behind his portrait painting. He will also discuss the ideas that inform his work, and he why he is compelled to use certain imagery. The demonstration will be live from the artist’s studio.
