Cierra Vigue | Biography After earning her BFA in Ceramics from the University of New Hampshire, Vigue founded North Cove Clay LLC, named after the North Cove of the lake where her family’s camp is located in northern Maine. This place, rich with childhood memories and quiet inspiration, continues to have a profound influence on her work. Nature serves as her greatest muse; time spent outdoors, away from distractions, fuels her creativity. Vigue draws from these moments to create intricate, textured ceramic forms that reflect the patterns and sensations of the natural world. Her process is intuitive, allowing each piece to evolve organically. Through her work, she aims to evoke a sense of connection to nature and to spark memories of time spent outdoors.
Cierra Vigue | Artist Statement From the beginning of her practice, nature has been the driving force behind Vigue’s work. She is drawn to the quiet, often-overlooked details found in the natural world, such as the texture of tree bark, the patterns on a mushroom, and the subtle formations hidden along the forest floor. Her sculptures aim to capture these intimate moments—details that can easily go unnoticed unless one pauses to truly observe. For Vigue, expressing these small yet powerful encounters with nature is central to her creative process.
