Colin Callahan is a NH-based painter and educator. He works primarily with representational painting using traditional techniques, with a focus on landscape. His evocative, painterly works explore atmospherics, seasonality, and light. He will be doing a demonstration on using negative space in his paintings.
Callahan earned his BA in Art History from College of the Holy Cross and has studied classical painting techniques overseas in Italy and France. Callahan was the head of the Art Department at St Paul’s School and the director of Crumpacker Gallery for over a decade. He exhibits regionally and has shown at Mill Brook Gallery, Elmira College, Kimball Jenkins School of Art, and other galleries. The artist has also worked with Universal Studios, ABC, Showtime and other studios to create commissioned paintings for sets.
