Canopy: a group exhibition supporting Mental Health Awareness in Collaboration with West Central Behavioral Health (WCBH) | May 9-July 12, 2025 | Opening Reception, Friday, May 9, 5-7 PM. to be featured in the Linda Roesch Visual Arts Gallery. Deadline: April 14. Delivery: Tues. May 6. Pick-up: Tues. July 15. Artwork must be 24″ and under, longest dimension. Summary: For the fifth annual exhibition supporting Mental Health Awareness in collaboration with WCBH, we chose the theme and title Canopy to reflect the healing qualities of nature and how being immersed in it offers comfort, protection, and support. Each leaf on a tree symbolizes growth and individual experiences, including the struggles we have overcome. Artists may depict a tree, a leaf, or even a group of trees. Imagine a forest landscape bathed in light rays, instilling awe, wonder, bravery, and presence. Artists are encouraged to consider the term canopy by interpreting it metaphorically or poetically, as it encompasses many interpretations of what it might mean to feel strong, brave, and supported. We hope visitors will feel welcomed into the gallery and experience a peaceful aura, surrounded by an anticipated copse of gathered trees composed in this uplifting annual group exhibition.
