AVA Gallery’s quarterly story-telling series, The Mudroom, is looking for storytellers who can tell a good story related to the theme “Holding On/Hanging Up.” Do you have a story to tell on the evening of Thursday, September 12, 2024? We’d love to hear from you and storytellers of all ages and from all towns in the Upper Valley and beyond. Storytellers will be awarded an AVA membership and one guest ticket to the performance.

Stories are limited to 10 minutes, must be true and autobiographical, not memorized, and must be told live (not read). If you have told a story at the last Mudroom, please wait until the next event to apply.

To submit your story, in fewer than 300 words give us a sketch of your true, personal story. Please don’t send essays, poems, folktales, speeches, or stand-up routines. Just tell us your story and what happens in the end. Please also include a brief biography of fewer than 100 words.

The deadline for story submissions is August 19. By August 23, we will select five or six stories from the submission pool and contact storytellers. Selected storytellers will be expected to attend a rehearsal on Sunday, September 8, at 4:00 PM at AVA.
