Join us for demonstration in monotype, a painterly process that involves applying ink to a plexiglas plate, manipulating the ink on the plate to create an image, and directly transferring the image from plate to paper using a press or other type of pressure. With an emphasis on improvisation monotype explore the more painterly aspects of this printmaking process.
Monotype can supplement painting practices, and allow room for unexpected and exciting results. The process of transferring the painted image to paper makes for unique marks, textures, and outcomes that painting directly on a canvas or panel can’t create.
The demonstration will be live, and viewers can ask questions about the process.
