Elizabeth Nelson is a painter who collaborates with paint and surface. She describes her process as an “interplay between materials and artist”. The body of work in the exhibition, Boreal, is a narrative documentation of landscape and weather, particular to northern New England and Iceland– where she has been a visiting artist in residence on two profound experiences. Her long connection to land and landscape and an awareness to the changing climate and fragility of nature, inform her poetic mark making and material manipulation resulting in luminous, soulful works.
