Ann Saunderson: Navigating Abstraction

Ann Saunderson is a NH-based painter, printmaker and educator. Saunderson works with a variety of media to create expressive, textural paintings that toggle between abstraction, landscape and figure. In the demo, the artist will demonstrate her process of  abstraction, and going from a sketch or collage to a fully realized image.

Ann Saunderson is a NH-based painter, printmaker and educator. Saunderson works with a variety of media to create expressive, textural paintings that toggle between abstraction, landscape and figure. In the demo, the artist will demonstrate her process of  abstraction, and going from a sketch or collage to a fully realized image.

Saunderson graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1966. As an art educator, she has taught a wide range of students, including serving as the Department Chair of Art at Sant Bani School, several years at Garland Jr. College, and Kimball Jenkins of Art where she was the Artist-in-Residence. She exhibits regionally and her work has been shown at the Currier Museum of Art, DeCordova Museum, AVA Gallery, NHAA, WREN Gallery, Kimball Jenkins and others.
