2019 Summer Juried Exhibition

Opening reception: Friday, July 12, 2019 5-7 pm

As the world changes around us we are pushed to reexamine the power and place of art. Artists were asked to respond to this shift and you are invited to uncover the messages in their work. One hundred eight talented New Hampshire and Vermont artist submitted one hundred eighty seven pieces of art. Of those submissions, eighty-nine pieces from seventy different artists will be exhibited. During the opening reception, three Juror’s Recognition Awards and the Cornelia M. Rahmelow Photography Prize will be awarded by juror Alan Chong, Director and CEO of the Currier Museum of Art in Manchester, NH.

Gallery Talk: Thursday, July 25, 6 pm – Huanping Huang is a PhD candidate in the Dartmouth Department of Earth Sciences who is working on creating regional climate model projections for, as well as assessing the effects of climate change on, the Northeastern US. He will bridge the gap between the visitor perception of the natural world through art and the measurable and scientific ways in which the world around us is changing and will continue to change.

Gallery Talk: Thursday, August 15, 6 pm“Climate Joy: How Creativity and Climate Action can Inspire Joy and New Ways of Being” Photographer Lyn Swett shares how composting influenced her work and her life, providing a metaphor for society and ourselves.
