Summer Art Camps

Summer Art CampsAnimate, paint, and create in AVA’s 2019 summer art camps! Camps run June 24–August 23 with half and full day options for children ages 6 and up.

If your child is enrolling in both morning and afternoon art camps, a supervised bring-your-own lunch hour is included. To accommodate working families’ schedules, AVA offers early drop-off (8:15am) and late pick-up (5:15pm) for $15 each for one week. Please call the AVA office at 603-448-3117 to register for these programs.

Growing, Growing, Gone! —Offered in Partnership with the Dartmouth College Department of Biology and the Geisel School of MedicineAllison Zito9-12 year oldsCampers will explore the outer and inner workings of plants through art and experimentation. Participants will visit the Murdough Greenhouses at Dartmouth to explore the variety of plant forms. Participants will also engage in exploratory projects and visit the mass spectrometry facility at DHMC to learn how scientists can separate and identify the biological buildings blocks that make up all organisms. Inspired by these visual and conceptual prompts, campers will use new and traditional art-making techniques to create both realistic and abstract works in a variety of 2D and 3D media. Into the WoodsAVA Instructor6-9 year oldsMany of the stories we hear, growing up, take place in the woods. The ‘100 Acre Woods’ at Crossroads invite campers to follow its trails into their own stories. The more we learn about the plants, animals and ecology of this forest, the more we see there. In drawings, paintings, and sculptures we will record our observations and develop the stories that our adventures inspire us to tell.
