Birdhouse Project

The WestLeb Birdhouse Project!
A pop-up public art happening just in time for Earth Day

It’s springtime and the birds are starting to return! We have a fun way to show our spirit of togetherness while we are still safely staying apart. Paint your own birdhouse and hang it around town! Then, the birds– and humans alike– can have a scavenger hunt of sorts finding them! And, while you’re tucking your birdhouse in a tree somewhere, you can do a little green-up, too!

Painted Birdhouse Kits: 8″ wooden birdhouses, paintbrushes, some acrylics, and wire for hanging. There’s also a packet of native wildflower seeds to spread where you’d like a future dash of color, and a Lebanon Community Cleanup “Blue Bag” Leb Rec, Arts & Parks to help with Spring Cleanup (maybe a park, rail trail, river-side, etc) and drop off at the Transfer Station for free and report where you helped tidy up a bit.

Originally WestLeb-focused, we’re hosting a pick-up site for the kits, so Lebanon and other UV residents can also participate! (AVA is not managing this project, we’re just a handy pick-up hub!)

How to:

PICK UP your birdhouse kit at AVA.
Thurs Apr 15: 2:00 – 4:00
Fri, Apr 16: 2:00 – 4:00
Sat, April 17: 8:00 – 10:00

PICK UP your kit or DROP OFF your completed birdhouse AVA.
Thurs Apr 22: 2:00 – 4:00
Fri, Apr 23: 2:00 – 4:00
Sat, April 24: 8:00 – 10:00

The organizers of this public arts happening have suggested a donation of $10 to cover the cost of materials, to be paid at pick-up. If finances are a stretch, just pick one up anyway. WE WANT YOU TO PAINT!
If you’re able, feel free to pay it forward so everyone can participate!

Once they’re painted (and dried!) drop them back off at AVA Gallery to be included in the installation, or hang them in your own special place.

Small improvements can go a long way, especially when we work together and make it fun. Let’s brighten up WestLeb together!

More info is available at Special thanks to AVA Gallery for their help in distributing!
