Mary Admasian
Artist Statement
Materials often dictate how I approach the content of my work. Painting and sculpture use different parts of my brain and gives me diverse creative experiences. With intention to compel viewers toward spiritual introspection, perspectives vacillate between darkness and light, acceptance and denial leading to questions of our personal and societal boundaries. My goal is to explore intuitive connections and emotional expressions through abstraction. Discovering links between natural and manufactured environments mark time, history, and reflects on the changes in our climate, both cultural and environmental. These relationships encourage the audience to weave personal narratives around these themes.
