Carla Kimball
Artist Statement:
I am a photographer, videographer and a dancer. I’m most interested in engaging viewers in a direct experience of my images and am intrigued by capturing elements of movement and stillness through my artwork.
I practice a contemplative form of photography that asks me to become still even as I move through the world. If I “turn on my eyes” and quiet my mind, I begin to really see what’s in front of me without labeling or judging. I find that the very ordinariness of our world can stop me in my tracks and the resulting images move me in unexpected ways.
